At Wirral Strength & Fitness, we believe that strength is about more than just muscles — it’s about community, respect, and supporting one another.

Safe Space Merseyside
Safe & Inclusive Space
Wirral Strength & Fitness is committed to being a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
We are proud to support Safe Space Merseyside and actively provide an inclusive, respectful space for all members, including LGBTQ+ and trans communities.
Discrimination, harassment, or hate of any kind will not be tolerated in our gym.
45%
This shocking stat shows that 45%
of LGBTQ+ people experienced depression in the last year, and LGBTQ+ adults are twice as likely to lack a safe, welcoming space to exercise compared with others (Sport England, 2021).”
41%
Research has sadly demonstrated
41% of trans people in the UK have experienced a hate crime or incident linked to their gender identity in the past year (Stonewall, 2017).
That’s why we’re proud to announce that we support Safe Space Merseyside, an initiative dedicated to ensuring that everyone, including LGBTQ+ and trans people, feels welcome and respected.
Our gym is a private members’ club, but our doors — and our values — are open to all. By supporting Safe Space Merseyside, we are making a clear commitment:
- We will not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind.
- We will provide a safe, supportive environment for all our members.
- We will keep listening, learning, and improving to make our community as inclusive as possible.
We’re also bringing this spirit into our new Mash Mental Health sessions, which combine open conversation with powerful physical release. These sessions, like all of our work, are about creating space where people feel safe to share, move, and grow stronger together.
We're committed to extending this to all of our LGBTQ+ friends and working with groups to bring about more community based events. If you have ideas, please send us a message.
At Wirral Strength & Fitness, everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, and valued. Together, we are stronger.
