these morning sessions are for all genders and ages. I want to do more in the community for mental health - the picture on the Wirral is bleak but I believe in HOPE and our motto is "there is always something you can do"

The UK wide picture
Men account for nearly three-quarters of all suicides in the UK. For men under 35, suicide remains the leading cause of death, showing the urgent need for awareness and support.
55%
The local issue
Depression on the Wirral is 55% higher than the national average. This means more local people struggle daily, highlighting the urgent need for awareness, open conversations, and accessible support.
36%
The result
Men are under-represented in mental health support. Only just over a third of NHS therapy referrals are for men, leaving many struggling in silence without the help they deserve.
Real Strength Starts with Speaking Up
Men’s mental health is a growing crisis. In the UK, men make up three-quarters of all suicides, and for those under 35, it’s the leading cause of death. Yet, men are far less likely to access support, with only a third of NHS therapy referrals being male. Locally, Wirral faces even higher levels of depression than the national average, with some neighbourhoods among the hardest hit in England.
Our sessions matter because they provide a safe, welcoming space to talk, release stress, and connect. By combining conversation, community, and physical release, we aim to break stigma and build resilience.
